Half A Pint of Blood

I have not seen my half brother and half sister for 16 years or had any contact. A few months back my sister had a message from my half brother who had found her on facebook.

He is now leaving the UK to start a new life in America and wondered whether my sister wanted to meet up with him as they have had minimal contact in the past.

I will be going as well, I have no ill feeling for my half brother or sister since you cannot choose your parents and the stuff called life which happens between them, this is where the following expression comes from.

Half Blood

A whole does not a pick half
Nor time to enter.

Pillars may fall
Spit rubble and debris to the eye

But a half does not pick a whole
Only time to leave.

The Other Half

There is always a desire to belong and perhaps as we get older it comes more to the forefront, particularly since it gets much harder if you have not already found your place.

Half. Half of a whole. Optimism and Pessimism. The following pretty much says where I stand.

Half

The end is not complete
perhaps not keenly grown
or the roots were
cut.

Maybe it is meant to chance
until discovered
by accident in eyes cross the room

until then
there are no flowers in the pot.
